Computers, Wi-Fi & Printing

Using Library Computers

Children's Computer Use

Children and teens under the age of 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian to use the library's Internet computers. The best way to give your child access to the library's computers is to get them a library card. Guardians can allow access to the filtered internet computers, or the standard internet computers. Filtered computers are located next to the Help Desks and block social media and email sites. Visiting children, or those without library cards, can get a guess pass, but they must have a parent or guardian sign a permission form in person. Permission forms are kept on file for three months. Tablets at the children's kiosk provide access to games only (no internet) and are available for all children to use, no library card is required.

Wi-Fi

Free high-speed wireless internet for laptops and mobile devices is available from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Users can request a password to access the library's secure connection at the service desks.

Library computers are connected to a shared printer, which is located behind the Adult Help Desk. You can also print virtually any document or web page from your internet-connected device using Princh, our mobile printing service. Instructions for printing from a mobile device are below. There are three ways to send print jobs wirelessly. You can even send your print job from home and then drop by the library at your convenience to pay, print, and pick up your print job. Printing costs are:

  • $0.10 per page for black & white
  • $0.50 per page for color

The library's printing terminal only prints letter-sized (8.5 x 11) documents. If you need to print on legal-sized (11 x 14) or ledger-sized (11 x 17) paper, library staff at the service desks can assist you. The cost per page stays the same.

New mobile printing service

We have implemented Princh, a new printing solution for mobile printing. Princh makes it easy to securely print from a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop, both remotely and at the library. The steps for printing are included below.  Princh provides simple-to-follow interactive walkthroughs, and library staff are always available to help.

  1. Print from a Mobile Phone, Tablet, or Laptop
  2. Install the Princh App
  3. Email Your Print Job
  • While at the library you can locate the print guide poster next to the printer and scan the QR code (if using a phone or tablet), OR open your browser, go to print.princh.com, and enter the 6-digit printer ID number: 108399
  • Upload your document(s)
  • Adjust the settings (one-sided or two-sided, number of copies, color or black and white)
  • Enter your email address
  • Proceed to the Print Release station behind the Help Desks to pay for and print your documents (you will find the print job by your email address)
  • Note that we will save your job for 24 hours

Funding

Our goal is to provide the equipment and training to everyone who needs it to help them fulfill their work, school, life and learning needs. Several funding opportunities help the library achieve this goal, including:

  • Federal eRate and Oklahoma Universal Service Fund - provides 100% of the funding for the library's high-speed internet service, and eRate also provides 60% of the funding for network equipment that keeps our computers and Wi-Fi running.
  • LSTA (Library Services & Technology Act) Grants - These funds are provided through the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL) and allow the library to upgrade, replace and maintain computer networks and to buy additional equipment.
