Drive-thru Shred

The Stillwater Public Library holds one shredding event each year for community members to securely dispose of their sensitive documents.

When is the event?

The next date is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 9-11 a.m. We try to consistently schedule it for the last Saturday in February.

How many documents can I bring?

Participants may bring up to two copy-paper-sized boxes of material. Paperclips and staples do NOT need to be removed.

Where do I take my papers?

The event is held in the parking lots north of the library and in front of the Prairie Arts Center. Cars drive through the lot to the truck, where the material is unloaded and shredded on-site. Staff and volunteers will help navigate cars through the drive-thru and unload boxes of papers.

Who does the shredding?

Shred-Away Shredding is the company the library uses for shredding. Shredding is done on-site at drop-off. Shred-Away uses a multiple-cutting method to ensure the safe disposal of your material.

Is there a fee?

The event is free, but donations are gladly accepted to offset the cost of the event.

What should I shred?

We suggest checking with your attorney or accountant for a definitive answer, but the articles below will assist in identifying possible material to shred.
