Local History & Archive

The library collects local history materials at a research level. Materials primarily focus on governmental entities and local organizations. Most items in the collection are available for in-library use, though some duplicate items are available for checkout in the circulating collection.

The library has over 276 boxes of documents and photos. Some of the larger collections are the Stillwater Fire Department Collection, the Stillwater Medical Center Auxiliary Collection, the Kincannon Collection, and the Clarence Bassler Scrapbook collection. Patrons wishing to view items can make a request at the Adult Help Desk during regular library hours. Photo identification is required for in-library viewing.

Microfilm Collection

Find microfilm copies of newspapers in the Genealogy Room, including a near-complete collection of Stillwater newspapers and collections for Perkins, Cushing, Yale, and Glencoe. Images may be scanned and saved to a thumb drive.
