The City of Stillwater is responsible for keeping city streets clean of trash and debris.
The Street Sweeping Program not only keeps city streets cleaner and safer, but it also reduces health hazards related to dust and ensures trash does not become a refuge for insects and rodents. Regular sweeping helps prevent the accumulation of debris and reduces the amount of sedimentation discharged to streams, lakes, ponds and other waterways.
The sweepers are out Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm year-round. All streets are swept on a rotating basis, with an emphasis on collecting fallen leaves between September and March. Streets with curbs are swept first and those without curbs as necessary.
