Free business classes at the Stillwater Public Library Oct. 2 and 4
(Stillwater, OK) – The Stillwater Public Library and Meridian Technology Center (MTC) are having two business programs this fall. “Discovering Your Side Hustle” is on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. and “Starting a Business” is on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 1-3 p.m. Registration is requested through either the library or MTC so that staff have enough supplies for attendees.
In “Discovering Your Side Hustle,” participants will learn about balancing a small business while having other responsibilities. This class is for those wanting to test the waters of running a business but are not yet ready for a full-time business.
The “Starting a Business” class will delve deeper into the many aspects of getting a business started and what it takes to run it full-time. Attendees will learn about marketing, finances, necessary research, how to avoid common pitfalls and more.
Brad Rickelman, Assistant Director of Business and Entrepreneurial Services at MTC, enjoys instructing both classes and helping community members find their footing on their entrepreneurial journey.
“There is much to learn, whether starting a small business or running one full-time,” Rickelman said. “But if you know what steps to take and that there is assistance when you need it, your odds for success will improve.”
The library has additional resources including the Small Business Reference Center database and e-magazines in Libby, the library’s online service which contains business journals such as Money and Entrepreneur.
