A Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for managing information between the police department and the public. They act as a liaison between the police department and the media, handling press releases, organizing news conferences, and responding to media inquiries.
Public Information Officers are also responsible for managing the department's social media accounts, ensuring that accurate and timely information is posted on various platforms. Additionally, they assist with community outreach programs, coordinate public events, and educate the public on police procedures and policies.
