(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / September 22, 2023) – The Stillwater Public Library is once again offering a free writing club for kids in fourth through seventh grades in partnership with the OSU Writing Center. The sessions will be held every Wednesday in Oct. from 4-5 p.m. Registration is preferred.
Children’s Librarian Elizabeth Murray appreciates the OSU tutors who are running the program.
“This time the facilitators will be Exquisite Williams and Alicia Tan who are both graduate students at OSU and tutors at the OSU Writing Center,” Murray said. “We are so lucky to have the Writing Center as a resource."
Murray also notes that the kids who have participated in the past have had fun exploring their imaginations and expressing themselves in writing.
“I'm sure that kids who participate this fall will have a similar experience," Murray said.
Attendees will participate in activities such as group story writing, games like charades, telling stories through art and learning about writing through audiovisuals. The activities will depend somewhat on the kids who attend and the types of activities that most interest them.
Parents may register kids for the writing club at tinyurl.com/WritingOct2023. Information about upcoming library programs for all ages is available at stillwaterok.gov/Library.
