Adopt a Pet

All adoption paperwork, which is specific to each animal, must be filled out in our office. People adopting a pet get a sample bag of the food their new pet has been eating here, a slip leash for dogs, and all medical records.

When you adopt a dog from us, we encourage meet-and-greets with any dogs you already have. Just call ahead to arrange a time. We ask people adopting a cat to bring a cat carrier for safe transport to your home.

Each pet adopted through Animal Welfare has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, has had their first round of deworming and has been given flea prevention.

Adoption Fee

The adoption fee for all dogs is $60. The adoption fee for cats is $25 to $40, depending on the type of medical care that particular animal required at the shelter. No dog or cat will be released for adoption without being spayed or neutered.

The shelter accepts credit cards for adoption and impoundment fees but payment by cash or check may be required for some animals, based on specific spay/neuter assistance program rules. Any special requirements will be indicated in the animal's description.
