Permits

The City of Stillwater does not require a license for dogs or cats but does require all dogs, cats and ferrets over four months of age to be vaccinated against rabies. Dogs and cats must continually wear their rabies tags attached to a collar or harness.

Individual households within the city limits are limited to three dogs or cats unless the owner has been granted a professional animal permit by the City to operate a pet shop, kennel or shelter. Grooming facilities also require a permit.
